The Team

The AP Club has an experienced team that is very willing to assist you with all your leisure.

Your General Manager

Craig Hawtin is the General Manager of the AP Club, with overall responsibility for the day to day running of the club along with the gymnasium and all sporting activities. Craig has been a professional footballer for over 15 years, playing for Manchester City, Port Vale, Chester, Burnley and Halifax. In more recent times, he has obtained various coaching and fitness training qualifications and has established a growing reputation in the northwest for his Personal Training and exercise classes.

On the Management Side

The AP Club is operated by Beartown Inns Ltd, a sister company of Beartown Brewery Ltd and Beartown Taverns Ltd of Congleton. As such, the Beartown Group has a growing presence in the leisure industry locally, both as a brewer of real ales, and an operator of public houses and clubs.

John Gregory is a major shareholder and chairman of the Beartown Group. He is a management consultant and accountant by profession and in recent years has built a significant business portfolio in the leisure and building industries. John has a listing in the `Who’s Who` in the world and is a former Guinness World Record Holder for sit-ups.

Ian Burns is also a major shareholder and Managing Director of the Beartown Group. He has over 25 years experience in the fermentation industry and is also Head Brewer of Beartown Brewery. Ian spent many years as a power-lifter and has been a local cycling champion.

Your Reception Manager

Tracey Shenton is the Reception Manager of the AP Club. Tracey has been a professional squash player for the majority of her sporting life, starting as a junior by winning the British and European Under 19 titles and being crowned World Under 19 Number 1. She graduated into the senior rankings adding numerous titles to her collection, finishing an illustrious career in The World Top 20.

Your Studio Coordinator

Adele Hartshorn began her much-travelled health and fitness career having qualified in London teaching aerobics and personal training. Her motivational skills and high demand from clients led to further qualifications in step, spinning and yoga based exercise, leading to several years working on cruise ships touring The Caribbean and North America.
